Will I need alterations?
Most wedding gowns need alterations to achieve the best fit. Alterations are not included in the price of the gown and vary based on the work being done.
Do you offer alterations?
We offer an in-house alterations option for gowns purchased at Amanda’s Bridal and Tux, based on availability every Saturday. We also recommend Tailored In White in Denver for brides who need weekday availability, purchased elsewhere, or need another trusted option.
What should I expect at my first alteration fitting?
All of our alteration appointments take place on Saturdays. At your first fitting with our in house seamstress, you will talk about the fit and what needs to be done to perfect it to your body. The seamstress will pin everything that is needed. (You MUST bring shoes to this fitting or she cannot pin the hem and bustles) You will then have a 2nd fitting scheduled to come back, again always on a Saturday. A 3rd fitting might be needed of more work needs to be completed.
Do you alter outside dresses?
Because our alterations schedule is reserved for Amanda’s brides, we are not able to accept outside gowns. For outside alterations, we recommend Tailored In White in Denver.
How much do alterations cost?
Typical bridal alterations may range from $600–$2,500 depending on the gown, fit, customizations, and timing. When using our in house seamstress, we require at least hald paid at your first fitting. The remaining is due once the dress is completed.
Still have questions? We’re happy to help you choose the right appointment, understand your timeline, or talk through what to expect before you visit.
