Frequently Asked Questions from our Brides
Do I need an appointment?
We take both walk-ins and appointments; however, walk-ins are assigned to a stylist based on availability. Appointments are 90 minutes.
What do I bring?
Our stylists love when you bring pictures of styles that inspire you. Feel free to bring a strapless bra or any special undergarments you plan on wearing for your wedding.
How many guests should I bring?
We recommend bringing a small but supportive group of your closest friends and family. Seating is limited.
When should I order?
It's never too early to order your wedding gown. You should plan to order 7-9 months prior to your wedding date. The recommended time frame for bridesmaids is 4-6 months prior to the wedding. If your time frame is less than 6 months, rush fees and availability depend on the designer. We also have a selection of sample gowns that can be purchased off the rack. We will always have plenty of beautiful options for your big day.
Can you order a dress that is not sampled in store?
We are able to order any dress from the designers we carry even though we may not carry the sample in store; however, some of our designers do offer loan sample programs and our stylists can help you find dresses in store that are similar in style.
Do I receive special discounts for my wedding party?
Absolutely. We offer special discounts for everyone in your wedding party including; the groom, groomsmen, bridesmaids, flower girls and mothers. We also accommodate out of state wedding parties. Your bridesmaids and groomsmen are welcome to call in their orders and measurements to our boutique to receive their special.
Will I need alterations?
Yes, most gowns will need alterations to obtain the perfect fit. Alterations are not included in the price of the dress and price varies depending on how much work is being done. We offer in house alterations through our expert seamstresses for gowns that were purchased at our boutique. Alterations are by appointment only. The required time frame for wedding gowns is 2-3 months prior to your wedding. Bridesmaids dresses need 1-2 months. We offer complimentary pressing and steaming of your gown following alterations.
What do I do with my dress after the wedding?
We offer cleaning and preservation on all wedding gowns, even gowns not purchased at Amanda's. This is done through The Wedding Gown Preservation Company. We offer special discounts for Abt Brides.
Why does it seem cheaper to buy dresses online?
